HOW TO MAKE IT?

To make the crispy popcorn chicken and fulfill your hunger, you need to get the following ingredients and follow directions:

INGREDIENTS:

·      Firstly, you will need 600g (or according to your need) of boneless chicken thigh fillets which you will need to cut into 3cm of pieces.

·      3 cloves garlic, which should be peeled and minced.

·      1 tablespoon of grated ginger.

·      1 tablespoon of soy sauce.

·      2 tablespoon sugar.

·      Half tablespoon Chinese five spice powder.

·      1 cup of basil leaves.

·      1 cup of sweet potato flour.

·      2 litres of oil for deep-frying the chicken.

·      Spice salt.

·      1 tablespoon of salt.

·      Quarter tablespoon Chinese five spice powder

·      Quarter tablespoon of white pepper.

·      A pinch of chilli powder of you like it spicy.

DIRECTIONS:

1.  Take a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sugar and five spice powder and mix it well for marination and set aside to marinate for at least 10 minutes.

2.  Now take the sweet potato flour or bread crumps in order to coat the chicken pieces and shake off/cut any excess.

3.   Take a saucepan and heat the oil in that saucepan. When the oil reaches 150 degrees C, disperse the basil leaves into the saucepan and stir it for about 20 seconds or until the basil turns kind of translucent or semi-transparent. Then remove the basil from the saucepan and drain it on absorbent paper.

4.   Now, increase the heat of the oil to 170°C and fry the chicken pieces in batches for about 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown color appears and chicken pieces get cooked through while regularly skimming any floating flour bits from the oil.

5.   For the spiced salt, now mix the ingredients together and toast it in a dry frypan over low–medium heat for about 2 minutes until a delicious smell or fragrance starts coming and the outer layer of the pieces gets crispy.

6.   Now, toss the chicken pieces with the fried basil leaves and season it with a good pinch of the spice salt and chilli powder if you like it spicy.

7.   Your delicious crispy popcorn chicken will be ready in max 20 minutes.

8.  Plate up. Immediately serve it hot and crispy with any sauce according to your preference or with some french fries or any drink.

9.  Taste it and check what you made in no time.

10. Enjoy.
